A cow does not make a very good floatation device for luxury cruise ships

leather floatation

A floating cow sends Seattle into a frenzy. People were in fear and panic unable to visit local beaches. Home owners concered property values will decline sharply. No fear the moo moo is on its way to the glue factory and all is well now thanks to Seattle PD

A Seattle Police Department Harbor Patrol vessel towed a floating cow to a boat ramp Saturday, where it was loaded onto a removal truck. Seattle Animal Shelter enforcement supervisor Ann Graves says animal control officers received a report Thursday that the carcass of an adult cow had beached in West Seattle. A cow does not make a very good floatation device for luxury cruise ships, apparently.

Authorities in Seattle say alarm met the shoreline when beachfront residents found the body of a 400-pound cow washed up by the surf. It’s not clear how it got in the water. One possible cause could be depression. Many dairy cattle face depression on a daily basis from being locked into a routine. Another scenario is the poor cow could have been suffering some form of lactose intolerance and decided to end it all.

More than likely she was washed down stream and into the ocean or in open range and plummeted from a cliff into the chilly waters below. One reader suggested the cow was part of a luxury cruise liner staff “morning coffee cream producer” and jumped ship or became a cow over board.

Is leather water proof? Things to ponder no doubt however I would not recommend using a cow as a floatation device.

Peace has returned to the area since the tide later moved it in front of a home.

Graves said it had no ear tag or other identification and also pointed out that it could have been dumped by owners after it died naturally.
