A strange white water rafting race is held annually in Russia on rubber inflatable girls

According to news agencies, the first such event took place in the Leningrad region of Russia, in August 2003. Leave it to the Russians to come up with a sport that is so wacky, fun and creative. A strange white water rafting race is held annually in Russia on rubber inflatable girls.

This year nearly 1,000 participants signed up for the 7th annual event and the banks of the river lined with thousands of fans, cheering for their favorite swimmers. Participants need to overcome the long distance of 800 meters as quickly as possible, without losing their personal flotation doll.

The participant’s doll can be a rubber woman of his own or rental inflatable partners are available. As part of the action there will also be two additional competitions: the best name for the inflatable beauties and the best drawing in the style of Body Art, performed on the body of a rubber woman.

The participants, both men and women, will swim in the Losevsky rapids of the Vuoksa River near Saint Petersburg, using rubber dolls of all types. To win, the rafters will have to run the distance of 800m at the shortest time without losing his or her companion.

Anyone over the age of 16 is allowed to take part in the competition. In the previous tournaments, participants usually gave pet names to their dolls, for example Mary and Her Poppins (the word “Poppins” resembles Russian word for “buttocks” – popa), Speedy starlet, Cleopatra and so on. Some also paint the bodies of their rubber ladies. The funniest name and the best body painting are also awarded.

All participants must wear a helmet and a life vest. They also have to remain sober and those who are seen drunk are disqualified. The tournament is sponsored by a number of Russian adult shops and is named the Bubble Baba Challenge (in Russian, baba stands for “woman”)

One of the aspecks of the contest is the art work on the flotation devices. The person that creates the best drawings on the dolls win.

The dolls used are in many forms, shapes and sizes. Each contestant tries to create something unique and make the device stand out.
