Some have already known of this story in the past but one thing seems to be ignored, This young woman, the mother of the twins, was in a relationship before she was forced into marriage. Forced marriages is not a weird news story, however the turn of events in this one is a bit strange.

A Turkish man who had initiated divorce proceedings had the incredible surprise to learn through DNA testing the unusual news that he is the father of only one of his twins, according to the Turkish newspaper Sabah,

The Turk, a security guard in Istanbul, only identified as initials AK, had begun to doubt the loyalty of his forced wife and had the DNA tests on their 3 year old twins.

The tests showed a 99.9 percent certainty that he was the father of only one of the boys, said Sabah, adding that these tests were confirmed by another laboratory at the request of the divorce tribunal.

The mother maintained a relationship with a man before being forced by her family to marry with AK.

The phenomenon of twins with different fathers, which bears the scientific name of heteropaternal superfecundation, is very rare in humans, but more common in animals, cats or dogs.

It occurs when the woman’s ovary releases two eggs in the same month, which were fertilized by the sperm of two different men that she had slept with within days of each other, said Professor Rusen Aytac, head of gynecology at the University of Ankara.

The sad ending of the story is that AK has decided to retain custody of his one child, and the other was placed in an institution, says Sabah.

As for the mother, who has received death threats from her parents and those of her husband, has obtained a court injunction prohibiting them from approaching within 500 yards from his home, she is not being allowed either of her children. Perhaps forced marriages are not a good idea. The wife was not cheating. She had a long time boyfriend before she was forced to marry. She got pregnant from her boyfriend then was FORCED to marry AK which got her pregnant also within a few days time. Forced marriages are still common in many parts of the world. The wife’s parents are angered because she was not still a virgin. My heart goes out to young woman who has lost both her children and now thrown out as garbage.
